If you requested a copy of your statement by mail, you will receive it shortly. However, you can access your statement earlier online, where you will always be able to view a copy, eliminating the need for saving paper copies.
As our newest members, you’ll receive your annual statement from your previous plan administrator this year. Starting next year, your annual statement will come from UPP.
Although we are required to provide deferred member statements once every two years, we are committed to sending you a statement each year during the summer months. This gives you an opportunity to stay informed about your pension, and ensure your information is accurate and up to date. You will receive an email when your statement is available in the myUPP Member Portal.
Each year, by the end of June, your UPP annual statement will be available in the myUPP Member Portal. Whether you are actively working, have a deferred pension, or are already enjoying your pension, your statement provides a personalized snapshot of your pension.
Keep in mind that your annual statement reflects information as of December 31 of the previous year and may not reflect more recent payroll or service information.
If you’re still working or have a deferred pension, review your accrued pension and key milestone retirement dates.
If you’re retired, view your monthly and annual gross pension amount and the retirement option you selected.
Ensure your contact, spousal, and beneficiary information is accurate and up to date.

Last year, UPP assumed official administration of the plan for most members. As a result, this is the first year many members will be receiving an annual pension statement from UPP, rather than their employer or previous pension administrator. Rest assured, all required information is still set out in your statement. We welcome your questions or feedback.

No. Your annual statement provides you with a snapshot of your pension benefits reflecting information on file as of December 31 of the previous year, and may not include recent changes such as earnings increases in the current year. They offer a conservative estimate, as they do not project future earnings.
As you review your annual statements and the estimator, you may notice differences. This is expected as the statement provides a point-in-time snapshot, while the estimator provides a closer view with future service and earnings projections, and different retirement dates.

Your annual pension statement highlights your personal information, including your pensionable earnings, service, and contributions. While your employer matches 100% of your contributions, these contributions are pooled and invested in the pension fund to deliver secure, lifetime pensions to all members.
If you have multiple periods of membership under the Plan, they each result in their own pension entitlement, and you will receive separate annual statements. You may receive these at different times, as deferred member statements are issued over the summer months.
Our defined benefit pension promise is to provide you with a guaranteed monthly pension for life. Your annual statement provides you with key information about the pension benefit you are entitled to when you retire. In most cases, commuted value calculations are only available if you terminate membership before reaching retirement age.
A key terms and important information section is provided at the end of your statement. In addition, you can explore our website to learn about important moments along your pension journey, read FAQs, and access the UPP Member Handbook, and applicable Pre-conversion Guide.
