UPP congratulates Trent University and OPSEU Local 365 on the ratification of a new collective agreement

Three-year agreement includes commitment to move pension to UPP in January 2025.

University Pension Plan (UPP) is pleased to congratulate Trent University and OPSEU Local 365 on the finalization of a new collective agreement, which includes a commitment to convert Trent University’s single employer pension plan to UPP, the jointly sponsored pension plan for the university sector, effective January 1, 2025.

“We are thrilled that Trent University and OPSEU Local 365 have affirmed their commitment to transition their pension plan to UPP. We look forward to working together during the next stages of the transition process, with the shared goal of bringing enhanced retirement security to hundreds of support staff at Trent,” said Barbara Zvan, President and CEO, UPP.

More information about the ratification can be found on Trent University’s website. Eligible members of the Trent University Faculty Association are already members of UPP, having joined on January 1, 2022.

As a sector-wide plan designed for growth, UPP is open to all universities and organizations in Ontario’s university sector. To learn more about joining UPP, please visit the Join UPP webpage.
