University Pension Plan (UPP) is delighted to share that the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) has formally approved the conversion and transfer of the Wilfrid Laurier University Pension Plan to UPP.
“FSRA’s approval marks a significant milestone in our journey to providing secure, lifelong pension income to Laurier’s members. The dedication and collaboration of our Laurier partners has been pivotal in achieving this success. We look forward to welcoming and supporting Laurier’s eligible staff and faculty as they transition to UPP.”
UPP’s President and Chief Executive Officer
Effective January 1, 2026, eligible faculty and staff from Wilfrid Laurier University and affiliated organizations will become the newest members of UPP. Work continues across UPP and with our Laurier partners to ensure incoming members receive the information and support they need as they transition to UPP.
Since launching in 2021, UPP has grown steadily, currently serving over 41,000 members from five universities and 14 sector organizations across Ontario’s university sector. Laurier will become the sixth university to join, with over 5,000 eligible members benefiting from secure retirement income for life with UPP.
